Con-tempo are committed to ensuring that all stages of its operation are carefully monitored to maintain our efficiency and reduce our carbon footprint and to ensure our impact on the environment, both locally and globally, is minimised.

Sustainable Sources

Con-tempo prides itself in carefully selecting suppliers who are very environmentally aware. All our timber suppliers are all FSC certified which means they comply with the highest social and environmental standards on the market. 

Reduce/Recycling

Con-tempo strives to reduce emissions and waste products at all levels of its production process. This begins before Con-tempo even handles a piece of wood in ensuring that most of the materials supplied are pre-cut so that our own machine waste is minimised at source.

Any waste wood dust or chippings are extracted at the point of production by a series of complex extractor fans, fed into a holding silo and then into a highly efficient furnace, which in turn then heats the factory. This effectively means that our heating costs are practically zero and Con-tempo are self-sufficient in terms of maintaining the factory at a constant temperature which is vitally important when handling wood products.

Every scrap of cardboard used for packaging or transport is reused and then once its finished with its then sent off for recycling.
